Reliable Oil Temperature Monitoring for Distribution Transformers

Monitor the thermal condition of your distribution transformer with a proven Bourdon pointer-type thermometer. The CEDASPE® VT is available as VT80 for remote indication or as VT100 for direct mounting with two microswitches.

How it works

The CEDASPE® VT measures the oil temperature using a Bourdon-tube measuring system and displays the value directly on the dial. VT80 is designed for applications where remote indication is required via capillary. VT100 is mounted directly at the measuring point and provides two freely adjustable microswitches for temperature-related signaling.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions
How does the CEDASPE® VT thermometer measure temperature?

The thermometer operates based on a liquid-filled, closed measuring system consisting of a temperature probe, a capillary or rigid connection, and a Bourdon tube. Temperature changes at the probe result in pressure changes within the system, which are transmitted to the Bourdon tube and displayed as a pointer deflection.

What is the difference between VT80 and VT100?

The VT80 is designed for remote temperature indication via a capillary connection and does not include switching functionality. The VT100 is designed for direct mounting at the measuring point and includes two adjustable microswitches for switching applications.

How do the microswitches in the VT100 work?

The microswitches are actuated by a cam disc connected to the pointer shaft. When the predefined temperature threshold is reached, the mechanical movement of the pointer triggers the switching operation.

Does the device require regular maintenance or recalibration?

The CEDASPE® VT-Series is designed as a maintenance-free system and does not require recalibration during operation under specified conditions.

Is the thermometer suitable for operation in harsh environments?

Yes, the device is designed for industrial applications and operates reliably under vibration and outdoor conditions. It supports ambient temperatures from −40 °C to +80 °C and is resistant to mechanical stress according to IEC standards.

Can the thermometer be used with standard transformer installations?

Yes, the temperature sensor is compatible with common Type A thermometer pockets according to IEC 60076-22, enabling standard integration into transformer systems.

Problem with the installation? No problem at all!
