FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the "Standard" and the "e.on" variant?
The "e.on variant" has Modbus-specific parameter settings especially for the distribution network operator e.on. Externally, there is no discernible difference, and both variants are functionally identical.
Can the ECOTAP® VPD® on-load tap-changer with motor-drive unit also be operated WITHOUT a control unit?
No, the mode of operation, including the energy storage unit built into the control unit, requires the use of the control unit supplied by MR.
Can a standard control unit be replaced by a Control DS control unit?
Yes, the hardware and software functions are the same, the Control DS has an additional input for 1-phase current measurement and extended functionalities.
What does the "DS" in Control DS stand for?
It stands for "Dynamic Setpoint Adjustment", depending on the active power flow. This function was previously available as 'TDSC' in a separate software called 'CONTROL PRO'.
