MESSKO® MLOG
The MLOG product family comprises two models, each tailored to different application requirements. Both the IM50 and IM100 record acceleration, temperature, and humidity. However, the IM100 has additional features such as optional analog and digital inputs, an integrated display for setup and status indication, and advanced configuration options. GPS tracking is available for both models. The IM50 focuses on core monitoring functions, while the IM100 offers advanced flexibility for demanding applications.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
How is event logging triggered, and what options are configurable?
Event logging within the MLOG is both threshold-based and time-controlled. Users can configure the system to trigger data logging when specific G-force limits are exceeded, taking into account amplitude, duration, and direction. It is also possible to set thresholds for temperature and humidity, or to initiate logging in response to changes in the digital input states. Furthermore, the device supports periodic data capture at adjustable intervals, ranging from every few seconds to once per day. All logged data is securely stored in non-volatile internal flash memory, ensuring data integrity even during power loss.
When is which MLOG variant best suited?
The two versions of the MESSKO® MLOG differ in their range of functions and therefore in their area of application. The IM50 Basic Control version is limited to the essential measurement functions and reliably records acceleration, temperature, and humidity. This makes it ideal for basic transport monitoring requirements. The IM100 Premium Control version expands this range of functions to include analog and digital inputs for additional sensor connections. It is therefore particularly suitable when comprehensive, location-based control and integration into existing systems is required.
Is the MLOG suitable for harsh environments or marine logistics?
Yes, the MLOG is specifically engineered for use in demanding transport environments, including maritime applications. It carries an IP65 protection rating according to IEC 60529 and is resistant to ultraviolet radiation and salt spray exposure. Its wide operating temperature range from −40 °C to +80 °C makes it suitable for both cold-chain logistics and high-temperature storage. The device is also rated for tropical conditions, with internal protection against condensation and biological contamination. The enclosure is made from durable Luran S and Softell TKS materials, which offer exceptional shock and vibration resistance.
How is the device mounted?
The MLOG is usually mounted with four M8 screws, with a standardized hole pattern available in the technical documentation. For flexible applications, an optional mounting plate allows quick removal. The housing also has integrated eyelets that allow additional physical mounting if required.
Can the device be configured through software?
Yes, the MLOG Analyzer software allows users to configure all major parameters, including threshold values, logging intervals, and channel assignments.
Is data communication handled via USB?
Yes, data communication is established through a USB 2.0 Mini-B interface, which connects the MESSKO® MLOG directly to a PC for data exchange, configuration and reporting.
Does the software support exporting data for external analysis?
Yes, all recorded events can be exported as CSV files, making them compatible with tools like Excel, MATLAB, or custom Python scripts. GPS data is stored as a kmz-file for Google Earth.
Is access to the software protected by user permissions?
Yes, the Analyzer software supports password-protected access with up to three configurable user levels to ensure controlled access and data security.
Does the device maintain accurate time stamps during power loss?
Yes, the MLOG includes a battery-buffered real-time clock (RTC), which ensures all data is consistently time-stamped even when external power is unavailable.
Can the device’s firmware be updated in the field?
Yes, firmware updates can be performed via the USB interface, allowing users to keep the device up to date with the latest features and security patches. Updates can be conveniently downloaded via myReinhausen.
